Pump Line Redesign

Designed a new line of pumps for plastic resin conveying systems. Analyzed information regarding the initial design of the pump line. Interviewed shop workers, mechanical engineers, sales engineers, and end product users to understand the advantages and setbacks of the existing design. Created a design for a new pump line which decreased the overall amount of bends, welds, and part count while maintaining functionality. The new design fit a more modern aesthetic, improved user functionality, and improved ease of assembly. The pump line design was simplified even further by utilizing one general frame, decreasing part count across the whole line drastically while maintaining a small footprint for all pumps no matter the configuration. Finally, a drawing package was constructed to begin the initial manufacturing.
